Teaching and Learning

We value and support students individual needs and differences. Quality programs ensure outstanding academic results. Our support programs for students with learning difficulties are recognised for their success.

Our supporting programs have enjoyed a strong tradition of achievement. This in turn supports the school's welfare programs.

Scone Public School offers excellent enrichment programs, particularly in the Performing Arts and Sciences. Our students enjoy an extensive variety of cultural experiences.

Key Learning Areas

At our school students study English, Mathematics, Human Society and Its Environment (HSIE), Science and Technology, Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA) and Personal Development, Health, Physical Education (PD/H/PE).

Lunch time

The Library is open at ‘lunchtime’ after ‘eating time’ at 11:30am.

Students are able to use the Library for recreational purposes or for School work.

Overdue books

Students are not permitted to borrow if they have any books overdue.

Periodically a printed notice will be given to students who have not returned books.

If books are lost or damaged beyond repair then payment is required to cover the replacement cost.

Bags

All students are required to have a library bag. The books will be protected against damage when they leave the library if they are kept in a bag.

There are library bags for sale in the Library for $2.

Internet Access

Students in all NSW State Schools have all been issued with a user name and a password that they will use from Kinder to Year 12 at any NSW Department of Education and Training (DET) location.

The DET allows students to access the Internet using their user name and password.

The DET has put into place safeguards that prevent students from accessing any ‘inappropriate’ sites.

There are many great web sites created just for students for both fun and information.

 NB - a recommended web site. http://members.ozemail.com.au/~slacey
